ELENDIL

Origin of the Name:
ELENDIL is a fictional character in J. R. R. Tolkien's legendarium. He appears among others in the Unfinished Tales. The name means either "Elf-friend" or "Star-lover" in Tolkien's fictional language of "Quenya".

 

ELENDIL is the original name of the vessel.

 

In our interpretation a strong and faithfull guide to lead his crew safely and fast across the sea.

King Elendil and his supporters flee to Middle-earth at the downfall of Númenor, sailing east and founding the realms of Arnor and Gondor in Middle-earth.



The yacht is a 60' steel ketch, La Roubine, designed by the famous designer Georges Auzepy-Brenneur.
